Lumbini Peace March concludes at Lumbini Garden



Lumbini Peace March concluded at the Lumbini Garden today.
"It would help project Nepal as a spiritual tourism destination clustered with tourism sports activities," organiser of Lumbini Peace Marathon and Goodwill Ambassador of Lumbini Bikram Pandey said, addressing the concluding march.
"The objective of the march is to promote Lumbini – the birthplace of Lord Buddha – and areas related with the life of Buddha as the tourism destination," he said, adding that they had started Lumbini Mini Marathon in 2012. "In 2013, we organised Peace Marathon and on March 16, 2014, we are organising Lumbini Peace Marathon that will start from Tilorakot and goes through Gotihawa, Kudan, Dohani, Barhiya, Pagadi, Labani and finally concludes at Maya Devi Temple garden. There will be two categories Men's and Women's in the marathon. Likewise, mini marathon of five km and 10-km corporate rely will also be held on the occasion.
Spiritual adviser of Lumbini Development Fund Monk Maitraya, on the occasion, asked organiser to promote peace and spiritual development of Lumbini through various activities.
Organised by Lumbini Peace Marathon, the Peace March started from Peace Flame, went around the Mayadevi Temple and ended at the Peace Flame.
The officials of Lumbini Development Trust, former Miss Nepal Sadkischay Shrestha, Olympians, representatives of Siddhartha Chamber of Commerce, Siddhartha Hotel Association, Siddhartha Hotel and Restaurant Association, officials from Nepal Tourism Board and sportsmen of Lumbini took part in the march.
