TeliaSonera names Dennelind as new CEO

TeliaSonera has appointed Vodacom International chief executive Johan Dennelind as its new CEO and president.
He will start work from September 1 and be available to the company from July 1.
Dennelind replaces Per-Arne Blomquist, who took over in February as acting CEO after Lars Nyberg stepped down. Blomquist will return to his previous role as CFO from September.
Dennelind brings almost 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including time at Telenor in Sweden and Malaysia and with Vodafone subsidiary Vodacom in Africa. He was named CEO of Malaysian operator Maxis last year, but later said he would not take up the position in order to be closer to his family in Sweden.
