Investment mantra – 3i

Though there is not a long history of capital market development in Nepal, the recent years have seen the highs and lows of the secondary market making the common people more confused over the benefits of the share market.
Despite capital market’s inconsistent growth due to lack of its linkage with the economic development of the country, it has around over million investors, most of whom have invested on shares on hear-say that they could make money overnight. But the market has its own course, it not only goes up, but also comes down. An investor must take investment decision wisely not follow on rumours and hear-say.
A renowned market analyst Rabindra Bhattarai comes up with a book ‘How to invest in stock market’, where he describes the concept of 3i – Information, Interaction and Investment. “One has to follow 3i for wise investment,” the author writes. The concept of 3i – also known as Rabindra’s Concept, according to the author – is for the rational investors.
The book also helps understand the capital market and its various aspects. The author, also a renowned market analyst, has in the book described various instruments that can help people maximise investors’ investments in detail.
In its 34 short chapters, the book has covered from the history of capital market to establishment of Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse); various types of securities; primary, secondary and OTC market; mutual fund; the much-talked about Central Depository System (CDS); and the latest trend in investment derivatives market in Nepal.
According to Warren Buffet, risks comes from not knowing what you’re doing, Thus the book will help minimise the risks of investors as it also teaches zero investment and profit.
